The natural ecosystems of this property, from forest to prairie to water provided an interesting challenge. At the request of the owners, the private resort needed to accommodate entertaining family and friends while remaining cozy enough for the couple to feel at home.

The compound consists of the main house, a party building with a pool, wine room and bar and a bunk house. Particular attention was paid to interior and exterior lighting to compliment the landscape while not overwhelming the expansive natural light. The lighting design relied on cove lighting with vertical washes thereby minimizing the need for numerous fixtures that could compromise the expansive views from all directions.
