Marriott Marquis, McCormick Place

Chicago, IL

The new 1.3 million sf, 1,200-key Marriott Marquis supports large events at McCormick Place, America’s largest convention center. The 50-floor glass tower and the numerous amenities challenged the team to upholding the Marriott’s lighting standards while honoring the architects design look with custom designed decorative fixtures. The project included connecting the historic 1912 American Book Company Building with the new hotel, working with the window fabricator to create, install and maintain a custom continuous outdoor LED lighting feature that breathed new life into the structure while preserving the historic landmark façades.
