University of Chicago Medicine – Ambulatory Care Center at Streeterville

Chicago, IL

University of Chicago’s new clinic at 355 E. Grand Avenue covers nearly 43,000 gross square feet encompassing current programs plus new services. The project included a street corridor and pedestrian level street presence, with sensitivity to a concerned neighborhood association requesting low glare. It was important that the facility provided welcoming self-serve check-in kiosks, a minimal reception desk without feeling unattended and secure entry points. Lighting attention was given to the Level 1 and Level 2 exterior facade, while interior work was done over two phases to accommodate COVID restrictions.
