University of Illinois – ISR Dining Addition and Renovation

Urbana-Champaign, IL

University of Illinois’s Illinois Street Residence Hall, (ISR) addition and renovation transformed the living, dining and programmatic space in the 53-year-old building. The project involved approximately 316,300 square feet in renovation and new construction that increased dining capacity and showcases a vibrant residential experience to potential students. The lighting design employed sustainable technologies to enhance the user experience, provide for substantial cost savings during construction and future operating savings. The LEED Gold certificate supports the campus’s strategic sustainability plan as part of the Illinois Climate Action Plan (iCAP).
