The exterior and interior building design for Evanston Library is highly reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie School design philosophies. AKLD worked closely with two architecture firms; Nagel Hartray (now Sheehan, Nagel Hartray) & Architecture is Fun, to re-invigorate the existing interior spaces with lighting that complimented the Prairie School genre and provided IES required illumination levels for reading rooms, technology classes, children’s craft classes, social service resources and multiple bookshelves and reference libraries.
